A Glacier Valley novella
The Nancy Sisters
Three girls, one rainy summer day and a Nancy Drew mystery that starts it all.
The story
A club of their own
It is 1958, the summer before fifth grade in Glacier Valley, Ohio. On a rainy day stuck indoors, Annie, Irene and Natalie read a book that belongs to Natalie’s mother, Jean: The Mystery at Lilac Inn. Nancy Drew is a girl detective, and the three friends think that is just about the coolest thing in the world.
So they decide to become detectives too. They name their club The Nancy Sisters and set out to solve the mysteries of Glacier Valley.
The novella introduces the town, the people who live there and the girls’ parents, and it is the beginning of a friendship that carries through all three Glacier Valley novels.
The town
Glacier Valley, Ohio
Glacier Valley sits in southern Ohio, south of Columbus and east of Cincinnati, at the edge of where the great glacier once slid down across North America. When the ice pulled back it left rich farmland, boulders, caves, lakes and forests behind.
You won’t find Glacier Valley on a map. Amy created it, and it is the home every one of these stories starts from.

Get early-bird notes from The Nancy Sisters before the novella begins in January. Meet the parents, Judge Carson and other friendly folks who live in Glacier Valley before the books are released in spring and summer 2027. George Pierson and his wife, Peggy, owners of The Depot, might even share Peggy’s famous recipe for the Nancy Sisters’ favorite dessert, Lemon Freeze. Maybe a few war stories from Frank, or some town gossip from the attorneys who meet for breakfast every morning at The Depot.
