Women’s fiction set in the historical time period after WWII. Annie, Irene and Natalie were born in 1948 in the small town of Glacier Valley, Ohio. Their stories move through the 1950s to the early 1970s as they navigate the adult world of college, careers, family, and love. Each novel follows one of them.

The Nancy Sisters
One rainy day in 1958, the summer before fifth grade, three friends read a Nancy Drew mystery, The Mystery at Lilac Inn, and decide to become detectives themselves. Their club, The Nancy Sisters, sets out to solve the mysteries of Glacier Valley, and introduces the town, its people and the girls’ families.

Book one · Annie’s story
Breath of the Sea
Annie’s story carries her from Glacier Valley to the shore at Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The sea plays a major role in this book, and it runs through the whole series: the third book ends at Emerald Isle too.

Indigo
In Indigo, Irene’s story moves to the Charleston area, where the sea comes into play once again.

Natalie’s story
After a visit to her Aunt Bella’s house in New York City, where she gets to watch the Rockettes practice, Natalie sets her goal: she is going to join the Rockettes. And the series comes full circle, ending at Emerald Isle.
